6 Months!

I can hardly believe that Blake is already 6 months old! He think Coen is the funniest person in the world, squeals and screeches, eats solid foods, gets up on his hands and knees, and loves turn the light switches on and off. He still wakes up loads at night, mainly to eat, since he isn’t a huge fan of the bottle and needs to make up for what he didn’t eat during the day. They call this reverse cycling according to various websites. Hopefully as he starts to eat more solids we will get a better stretch of sleep out of him. We are on our first week of a sleep plan…first week is getting him to fall asleep in his crib, not rocking or in our arms. We are using some of techniques in the book “no cry sleep solution” since it’s co-sleeping and breastfeeding friendly…and ditching the advice that our pediatrician who said that we shouldn’t ever feed him at night or pick him up or sleep with him.

It’s actually amazing that Blake has any motor skills at all, since this is what happens any time we put him down for some floor time. Coen just can’t resist the smushy baby hugs…

We scrapped the start of Coen’s green quilt…since he wanted a quilt “with all the colors of the world” and it is almost finished and HUGE!!! My biggest so far. I love how quilt tops look when held up to the light, doesn’t it look like a stained glass window? This one is Plain Spoken and it’s from the book The Modern Quilt Workshop…love! The back will be equally awesome and green green green.

Happy 6 Months, Blake!!! It’s amazing how fast time flies. I’m glad you are ditching your Ped’s suggestions. I didn’t listen to those suggestions either. I hope he continues to eat more solids and sleeps longer at night. Love, Love, Love the quilt! You are so talented!
