Seattle Newborn Photographer – Sawyer

This little fellow’s big sister was one of the first newborns I ever photographed so it was fun to go back to document their new arrival! Welcome little Sawyer! You were born into a super awesome family!

Coen and Daddy went off this afternoon to the movies…Blake and I stayed home and played.

Here he is signaling for me to put away the camera…hence the lens cap in his hand. 🙂

Blake’s first haircut

There are these places that “specialize” in children’s haircuts. From what I can tell the only thing that differentiates them is the fact that they have buckets of not-been-sanitized-in-I-don’t-know-how-long baby toys that the hair-stylist holds up every few minutes with a half-hearted “oh, look at this one” when your baby is screaming bloody murder.

At first we thought it might go smoothly…

Nope. And why do we always resort to the lollipop? I’m mean she is cutting his hair for goodness sake…maybe it’s not the haircut that makes kids cry…maybe it’s the sucking on a hairy sucker part.

She is loving her job SO MUCH at this very moment.

Flash

Things have been pretty quiet around this blog…mainly because our house has been the center for all kinds of colds and flu viruses. Hopefully we have seen the last of those little buggers and my camera will start being taken off it’s shelf a bit more.

I bought a flash today. None of the photos I have ever posted have used any kind of flash…so this is a VERY new thing to me. But with the long and dark winter days, I find myself wanting to take photos indoors, in our black hole (light-wise) of a house and my ISO can only be pushed so far. Enter flash. It wasn’t as scary as I thought it might be, even though I am no strobist!
